  1. 105's vs 100's

Posted by Unknown on May 4th 2022

I love my Pursuit Fork Flex Skis and Pursuit has treated me really well by correcting my orders, adding extra nuts & bolts, etc.

I have gone through 4 or 5 sets of 100mm 2/3 Combo wheels now.

May last pair of 100's went 312.8 miles and they finished at 89.62mm average in diameter. They suggest replacing at 95mm. The do get slower when they are smaller.

I switch my left and right skies every ski. When I finish skiing, I put a huge bread twist on my right ski and then switch that to my left the next time out. I also reverse the rotational direction of my wheels at least once during their life.

I bought a set of 105mm #2 Hardness for the first time. They definitely roll faster than the 2/3 combos. I honestly can’t tell if the bigger diameter makes rough roads feel smoother. They are a tiny smidge narrower at the bearing and also on the outside of the wheel. My first time out on the 105’s felt a little tippier than my worn down 100’s. On my second ski I didn’t notice any more.

Looking at my pace on the 105mm #2 vs. the 100mm #2/3 is around 10-15 seconds faster per mile (I ski the same route repeatedly). Hard to filter out the wind and other conditions, but they are faster. Coming down hills towards stop signs was definite proof. #2’s make skiing more enjoyable (more speed with less effort) but the 2/3 definitely pushed my heart rate higher and force you to use your arms more. I think I would recommend 2/3 for first time skiers as they limit your speed somewhat. For experienced skiers run with #2’s for long summer skis. Maybe back to 2/3’s right before the snow falls to build arm strength and harder work when climbing?

  2. Quick and accurate

    (4) new roller ski wheels. Reliable and as advertised, arrived quickly. Thank you! Only comment was the bearings seemed a little stiff, but they are rolling free-er after a few uses.

Product Description

Set of 4 105x24 mm replacement skate wheels built with bearings and bearing spacers. Made for 6 mm axle setups (M6 bolts). Solid rubber on aluminum cores. Also work on the old Marwe 610's with our conversion spacers for Marwe.

Wheel Speed Options:

Speed 1 - Faster but far from racing fast (2 ply construction). Shorter wheel life due to protective ply construction.
Speed 2 - Slow: Speed and resistance level comparable to average snow. Most popular speed straight up. Very long lasting 1,200+ miles.
Speed 3 - Ultra-slow: For strong/elite skiers looking for the most resistance. Long lasting.

Note: If you go with a 1/2 or 2/3 combo, put the speed 2 on the back as they wear best.

We suggest replacing 105 mm wheels around 100 mm diameter.

If you have a rear pull brake, when you change out your wheels, ask us to include two new lock washers to use between the outside of the forks and the brake arms.
